The passion for sports was matched by a natural talent for performance. She was the recipient of nearly all Feis prizes for her own nation's theatre and drama is a testimony to the fact that she was a natural performer. At age fourteen, she was admitted into the Abbey Theater, where her ambition was to study the art of opera and classical theatre.
