
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is captain and striker with the San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from 2018 until 2020. [8][99 Morgan was drafted as the number one player in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she was able to graduate early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut there and was instrumental in the team's winning the league championship. Morgan aged 22 at the time, was the youngest player on the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which the team finished second. Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the match against Canada during the 123rd minute of the semi-final match at the 2012 London Olympics. She was second in the U.S. to score 20 assists and 28 goals in 2012. This made her the sixth-youngest and youngest prolific player in the country to achieve 20 goals in a single year. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was the FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan has also played a role in helping the United States win their titles at the 2015 and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, which included her on the Dream Team for both tournaments as well as winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
